PREPARING
FUTURE LEADERS

OF DISASTER MANAGEMENT

The ACE Programme aims to train at least 100 disaster management officers from the 10 ASEAN countries as future leaders of disaster management in the region. These disaster management officers are expected to master the various aspects of disaster management with an appreciation of the scope of international and intra-regional coordination mechanisms.

WHAT WE DO

AND WHY

One of ACE Programme’s goals is to ensure that Member States share trust, common understanding and familiarity with each other’s disaster response mechanisms. ACE Programme is designed to be an intensive training programme, especially for middle-level managers from their respective NDMOs, creating a new generation of leaders in disaster management.

“This programme helped me improve my knowledge and skills on disaster management and enriched my capacity to communicate and coordinate with government officials and humanitarian actors. And the course also helped me understand myself better to lead other staff members towards the effective achievement of disaster response, especially in armed conflict response in Chin State, Paletwah township, Myanmar.”

WE ARE
