
Disasters for November 2025
For the month of November 2025, a total of 203 significant disasters were reported across the ASEAN region. The ASEAN Member States affected during this period included Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. Indonesia recorded the highest frequency with 182 events, representing approximately 89.7% of the regional total, which is more than double its five-year November average of 89 events. The Philippines followed with 14 events, while Malaysia and Viet Nam each reported 3 events, and Thailand reported 1.
November 2025 was a exceptionally high-impact month, with disasters affecting approximately 3,318 per 100,000 people and displacing 145 per 100,000 people in the region*. The number of affected persons reached 23.22 million, a figure 5.3x higher than the five-year average of 4.36 million. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) exceeded 1 million, which is 2.4x higher than the historical average. Floods were the most dominant disaster type, accounting for 67.5% of all occurrences (137 events), followed by landslides (28 events), wind-related incidents (23 events), and storms (13 events).
