Disasters for September 2025
For the month of September 2025, a total of 103 significant disasters were reported across the ASEAN region. The ASEAN Member States affected during this period included Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. Indonesia recorded the highest number of disasters with 63 events (61.2% of the regional total), which is slightly lower than its five-year September average of 67 events. The distribution of disaster-affected people across the region was heavily concentrated in the Philippines and Viet Nam due to the combinations of Tropical Cyclones and Southwest Monsoon with the region-wide total reaching more than 5 million affected persons.
