Effective coordination and accurate information management are crucial during emergency response operations, especially in the aftermath of the M7.7 earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand on 28 March 2025.
From the field to the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Jakarta, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre), in close collaboration with partners, has worked tirelessly to support and strengthen the national-led response by the Myanmar Department of Disaster Management (DDM).
The AHA Centre extends its heartfelt gratitude to the various United Nations (UN) agencies, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and Myanmar Red Cross for their strong collaboration on the ground during the emergency response.
For vital information management support and emergency communications, the AHA Centre is grateful for the support of the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC), Earth Observatory Singapore, MapAction, Sentinel Asia, Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF), Synspective, Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX), and Monash University—whose contributions have been instrumental in guiding response efforts with timely and reliable data.
