ASEAN Guidelines on the Use of Sex, Age, and Disability Disaggregated Data in Disaster Risk Assessment and Management

ASEAN Guidelines on the use of Sex, Age, and Disability Disaggregated Data in Disaster Risk Assessment and Management
The guidelines are designed as a recommendation to assist National Disaster Management Organisations (NDMOs) across ASEAN in integrating Sex, Age, and Disability Disaggregated Data (SADDD) into disaster risk assessment and management. This ensures that interventions are inclusive, addressing the specific needs of vulnerable groups such as women, children, persons with disabilities, and older adults.
However, as the collection of SADDD involves handling sensitive personal information, it is equally important to ensure that this process is conducted responsibly. Robust data governance frameworks must be in place with proper attention to the security, protection, and ethical management of personal and sensitive data, not only to safeguard privacy but also to build trust and cooperation among stakeholders. This ensures that data sharing and implementation efforts are secure, sustainable, and respectful of privacy rights across the region.
