Bringing together participants from the #ASEAN Mem

Bringing together participants from the #ASEAN Member States and ASEAN Secretariat, the AHA Centre conducted Capacity Building on the ASEAN Guidelines on the Use of Sex, Age, and Disability Disaggregated Data (SADDD) in Disaster Risk Assessment and Management, held on 27-28 October in Bali.

The event, supported by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs #Canada, aimed to strengthen technical capacities in collecting, analysing, and applying disaggregated data to ensure more inclusive disaster management practices across the region. During the sessions, participants also actively shared insights and experiences, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing evidence-based and inclusive disaster risk management in ASEAN.

The AHA Centre, with support from @giz_idasean, held a two-day Fraud and Corruption Awareness and Prevention Training facilitated by @sustain.id . The training aimed to deepen staff understanding and awareness of fraud and corruption risks, reinforcing a strong culture of integrity and accountability across the organisation.

In their opening remarks, Mr. Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director of the AHA Centre, and Dr. Philipp Hirsch from the @germanembassyjkt @germanyinasean, emphasised the importance of integrity, transparency, and good governance, as well as the strong partnership between GIZ and the AHA Centre in promoting effective internal controls in disaster management.

The AHA Centre reaffirms its commitment to the highest ethical standards in all operations and maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of fraud and corruption.

The AHA Centre and Swiss Agency for Development &

The AHA Centre and Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) held the Commemoration of the Achievements and the Next Phase of SDC-AHA Centre Cooperation on 15 October 2025 at the sidelines of the 13th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

From 2019 to 2024, SDC-AHA Centre partnership has contributed to emergency response efforts and the successful implementation of initiatives such as the SPDDM, SEPDM, localisation of ASEAN-ERAT, and exploring ‘One ASEAN, One Response’ beyond the region.

We eagerly anticipate the next phase of this partnership, and hope to continue working together with SDC to strengthen ASEAN's capacity in disaster management and response.

New Publication Alert!

Introducing the #ASEAN Guidelines on the Use of Sex, Age, and Disability Disaggregated Data (SADDD) in Disaster Risk Assessment and Management, a key step toward inclusive and evidence-based disaster management across ASEAN.

These guidelines support National Disaster Management Organisations (NDMOs) of the ASEAN Member States in integrating SADDD to ensure that disaster interventions address the needs of women, children, persons with disabilities, and older adults.

This publication is made possible with the generous support of the Government of #Canada through Global Affairs Canada.

Integrating Protection, Gender, and Inclusion (PGI

Integrating Protection, Gender, and Inclusion (PGI) is essential to ensure that disaster risk management (DRM) systems are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of all. It helps address intersecting vulnerabilities, safeguard dignity and access, and strengthen resilience for communities most at risk. At the same time, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) also play a vital role in this process, bringing community perspectives, fostering participation, and bridging the gap between policy and local realities.

With the support of Global Affairs Canada, from 29 September to 2 October 2025, the AHA Centre organised the Capacity Building on PGI Fundamentals for Climate-Responsive DRM and the Workshop on #ASEAN-Based CSO Landscape Analysis and Engagement Mapping for Disaster Resilience in Jakarta. The events brought together representatives from #ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, CSOs, RCRC Movements, UN agencies, AADMER Partnership Group, and partners to deepen knowledge, share good practices, and collaboratively map inclusive approaches to climate-responsive disaster management.

The AHA Centre was also honoured by the presence of H.E. Ambra Dickie, Ambassador of Canada to ASEAN, whose attendance underscored the Government of Canada’s strong commitment and support for advancing PGI in the region.
