On 10 February 2026, the AHA Centre had the pleasure of welcoming H.E. Fabien Penone, Ambassador of the French Republic to ASEAN.

The visit was an opportunity to share updates on AHA Centre's work in disaster management, and explore areas for stronger collaboration, including renewal of the AHA Centre-France Memorandum of Intent and cash contribution to the DELSA stockpiles at the Regional Warehouse in Subang, Malaysia.

We look forward to continued partnership with France in enhancing ASEAN's efforts in preparedness and emergency response.

On 6 February 2026, the AHA Centre and European Union’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) held the Commemoration of the One-Year Anniversary of the Administrative Arrangement signed in October 2024.

The commemoration was attended by H.E. Sujiro Seam, Ambassador of the European Union to ASEAN, representatives of the ASEAN Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR), Heads of Mission and representatives of the European Union (EU) Member States in Indonesia, DG ECHO, BNPB Indonesia, and the ASEAN Secretariat.

The gathering was an opportunity to reflect on a year of fruitful partnership and chart the way forward in strengthening ASEAN–EU cooperation on disaster management. Over the past year, the Administrative Arrangement has supported closer operational collaboration, stronger institutional linkages, and joint efforts to enhance preparedness, response, and resilience across the region.

ASEAN's signature emergency response team, the ASE

ASEAN's signature emergency response team, the ASEAN-ERAT, are often among the first to arrive when disasters strike in the ASEAN region.

ERAT's core functions include conducting assessments to determine the needs of affected populations, facilitating the reception of incoming assistance from other ASEAN Member States (AMS) and the AHA Centre, and assisting the National Disaster Management Organisation (NDMO) of the affected AMS in coordinating humanitarian response.

The ACE-LEDMP Junior Executive Level 3rd Batch has officially commenced with the online opening session on 12 January 2026.

Over the next 3 months, disaster management professionals from the ASEAN Member States will take part in the online sessions of our 5-month course that will shape them to become experts in disaster management and effective future leaders.

We wish our 3rd Batch participants all the best and look forward to welcoming them to Jakarta for the on-site sessions in April!

On 9 January 2026, the AHA Centre and Mission of t

On 9 January 2026, the AHA Centre and Mission of the People's Republic of China to ASEAN signed the Handover Certificate officiating China's contribution of USD 1,000,000 (RMB 7,300,000) for humanitarian assistance in Myanmar.

This contribution will go to supporting humanitarian assistance and recovery following the M7.7 Mandalay earthquake, including the reconstruction and repair of schools and the provision of essential goods and materials.

The AHA Centre would like to thank the Government of the People’s Republic of China for its generous contribution. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with China to advance disaster management across the region.
